Simple pleasures

It doesn't take much to make this girl happy.
I am the kind of person who finds beauty in little things.
I am inspired so easily.
One place I find inspiration is on Pinterest. So I
Thought I would share a bit of loveliness with you.
These are some items that have brought me inspiration or that
I simply am crushing on at the moment.

I have wanted a tee pee forever.
I am working on a tee pee in our backyard, in the process of collecting all the wood.

I love this outfit for fall. This would be my go to outfit!

Love these for a Halloween party
for my daughters class

I have pinned a round one on Pinterest also.

Now that my pixie is growing out, I am crushing on this style...
Love the color too but not sure I can pull it off.

In love with this table setting.
This is lovely for Autumn

I am job hunting right now,
I love this outfit for work.

This was part of the inspiration behind my daughters upcoming birthday party.

I love accessories, what girl doesn't

A new goal for this gal

Oh my goodness do I love Pinterest!  It is so fun checking in and seeing all the lovely pins. You can follow my Pinterest boards by going Here. The other day I was on Pinterest and this little, colorful picture comes up and it is for a 5k.  I click on it and read about the Color Me Rad 5k and am instantly inspired. I have to know more.
I found their site and
I am hooked.
I haven't been able to do a lot of heavy exercise because of some lung issues I had been having, but this is just what I needed to really try.
I have wanted to do a 5k for so long...I would truly love to run a marathon one day.
I just needed something to get me going. This is it.
I know that exercise is so good for you, but when you can't because of physical reasons it is easy to give up. I am happy to say that for months I have been red meat and caffeine free and have taken supplements
from an amazing naturopathic doctor. I am finally feeling better.
Sometimes it takes that little something to tug at you to make you
WANT to do it,
Or a big something like a health scare.
My little family may even join me in the fun and run it with me.
You have to admit...that looks like a hoot, right? I can't wait. So, the closet race to me would be in
St. Louis.  The dates for that race have not been announced yet, so I have time to train.
This goal really started long ago when a dear freind of mine sarted running and then ran her first marathon.
I was so impressed and inspired and proud of her.
She has since ran several marathons and continues to amaze me.
I mean look at that color, doesn't it just make you happy looking at all that beautiful color?  The website for Color Me Rad is wonderful and full of information.
Inspired yet? Who is with me?
so I started training today and I couldn't be more excited.
Today is the day, today I am ready...To go all the way.
I know, sounds like Dr. Seuss right?
Silliness aside, I am excited about this and that makes for a happy girl.
It is so healthy and fun to have a goal.  Something to
look forward to accomplishing.
That is right where this mama is now, ready to get going.
I will be posting about how I am training and how I am doing.
Should make for a funny read, if you want to follow along.
Thank you to Color me Rad for the inspiration.

all photos in this post are from their site.

Why I blog

I have been asked this question more often lately and since it is a question posed over at
After Nine To Five for Positivity week, I thought I would reply.
I started out blogging because I love writing.  I really didn't know how this would all end up or how it would touch my heart, or get me to thinking how I could help others through a blog.  It all started with Ace the duck. I was house sitting for my sister in Ohio on her farm and Ace (my nephew's duck) followed me around the pond every day.  I fell in love with that duck. Silly, yes but doesn't inspiration come from many places?  Read my first post Here
I went home and started writing. I was instantly hooked, so much so, that when my sister returned home I convinced her to start her own blog also.  See her precious blog Here
I love serving others. I believe that is why God put me here. I want to show my children that even little steps are movement forward to something wonderful and unexpected.
I love this little space I have made here, I love the amazing women I am meeting, I love that maybe I am in some little way helping, or inspiring others. Most of all I want to glorify God in all I do or say.  I love that this is like a little love note to my precious family about our lives togehter.
I have big plans for this little blog, but who knows what the future holds. I would like to do this full time, to do some sort of non-profit to help others. We will have to see what God's will is in all of this. I thank God for the words, the inspiration and love, I also thank my family who have been so supportive through this process. My kiddos actually think my blog is cool and that tickles me.
Thank you to all of you who stop by and read my words....I hope it lifts your spirits,  gives you hope or makes you feel loved. I love hearing from you!!!

Inspiration

It can come from anywhere.  A swatch of fabric, a good deed, a kind word, a picture or quote. Being inspired to want to create, or be a better person. Isn't inspiration what makes us want to do better, want to be better.  Who inspires you?  I have a long list of people who inspire me.  My children inspire me daily...I desire to be the Mom that can inspire them to reach for their dreams, be better people, love lots...for them to be inspiring to others hopefully.

It can be most anything really...It comes from so many different places.  Colors, textures, even certain scents. Kindness, compassion, love (of course), but what about the little things;  A very torn and tattered pink ballet shoe, a dimly lit string of twinkle lights, a beautifully set table, a lovely flower arrangement, the smell of  philosohpy products, an old pair of Converse sneakers.  All of these things insire me. Silly, maybe, but think about what inspires you. I think that is one reason Pinterest is so fun and can be so addictive....The images really can be inspiring.  I hope you have an inspired day lovelies.
