My slice~

My slice of heaven...it looks like this.
this is the place I come each morning.
and
it is the place I end each day,
giving thanks, for all that I have been given.
It is also the place where I sometimes cry out for more.
It  is the slice that I have been given.
The house that rests here is not perfect, it is not me.
It does not represent who I am in many ways.
But
The people in this house is what makes it my home
and
makes it all I could ever want it to be.
It isn't fancy,
it isn't new.
It is where conversations about
big things and little things take place.
Where dreams are shared.
and
fears are put to rest.
Where love is done right
and
parenting sometimes done wrong.
It is where mistakes are made.
Where wounds from a cold, world are healed.
Where we see the light at the end.
It is where some amazing memories have been made.
It has known the saddest of times
and
some delightful times as well.
It knows all the hurts, the aches, the ups and downs.
It knows my children's hearts.
It knows my heart.

The wheels on the bus

I watch every morning as they climb on board
that yellow bus.
It is routine.
But today I am sad, and I think about how
I used to sing the song
to them,
when they were little...
"The Wheels on the Bus Go Round and Round".
These days they take on new meaning.
That bus, that bright, yellow bus
 the one that drives them
 away from me
and
 to that destination
you know the one that is supposed
to educate, support, uplift and inspire
them.
This has been a difficult year for one of my 3 wishes.
Jr. High can be a cruel place
when
one won't conform.
As the bus drives away today,
as those big wheels turn round and round...
the hands of time
do as well.
And
I long for them to be back home once more
so that I can
sort through the rubbish they have been fed,
and fill them up instead with
kind words, compassion, an open heart, an understanding ear
and
with a ton of mama's love.

Blogging~a love affair

A year and a half ago I started writing this blog.
I didn't know what I was doing, I just began to write.
It was the most wonderful experience.
No one was reading, I am sure, but it was wonderful for me
none the less.

source

Writing has lifted my spirits,
has helped me see situations more clearly,
and at times has healed my heart.
Here
I have written about feelings, experiences, my family.
I have written about
 love, heartache, about kindness
about bullies, about life with teenagers.
I have shared my heart.
I have been scared, honest.
I love writing. I love that it comes from truth.
No matter where you are, what your mood,
writing comes from a place deep within you,
a place that you
can not hide away from the world.
and why would you want to hide that
precious, vulnerable part
that in part makes you who you are.
It makes you real and touchable.
I had shared my word for the year in an earlier post...
~intention~

What is my
intention?
I want the things I choose to do this year to have a purpose.
How and where I spend my time.
The words I  say to others,
how I parent my children.
even
plans for this blog.
I want to be intentional...
with my time, with my gifts, with my wishes.
I want to be a blessing to others
to share experiences of life's ups and downs.

I want this little spot on the Internet to have  purpose.
I would be lying if I said that I didn't want this blog to grow,
I know that I don't want to mold it into something that it is not.
I want to continue to write from my heart.
To continue writing these love letters
to my family.
To share my life in this way...
It truly has been a love of mine...
this little space I call 3 Wishes.

No one wants to believe that they
are the only person going through something
that may be hard. may even feel impossible at times.
Let's connect...
Join me on this journey. Let me know you.
Introduce yourself.
Share.
I would be so happy that you did!
I pray January has been good to you and that you are on your way
to a wonderful year ahead.

Blog Lovin

I had to borrow that phrase...blog lovin,  it just totally describes how I feel about blogging. Every part of it. From sharing my own thoughts and feelings, to reading what's on others minds and hearts. The few blogs that I am following, have taught me new things, inspired me and even bring a smile to my face. It has been so much fun to read other people's blogs and  be brave enough to share a piece of myself.  I have always loved writing, My Mother actually is the one who inspired that in me. She loved writing letters and receiving letters. When I was away at Grad. school, she and I wrote to each other all the time. It inspired me to write my family members and friends. My Mom would say " who doesn't love getting a letter?" Now that she is no longer here, I cherish those saved letters. I think that is one of the reasons I enjoy blogging, it is like writing a letter to someone.   It has been a while since I have stepped outside the box and tried something new.  When you do it makes you feel alive and happy.  So, to anyone who is reading this I hope I inspire in some small way or hopefully just bring a smile...
