Fear

Fear is one of those emotions that paralyze us.
You become motionless in its grip.
It really is a tool of the enemy to render you helpless.
It is an ugly four letter word.
Who am I to tell my children to go out on a limb,
to be brave and to take chances if I am fearful
of what will happen if they are brave?
Fear can control us, and if you let it, can ultimately destroy you.
It can direct our path where God didn't even intend us to go.
Fear is like quicksand,
slowly but steadily taking us where we don't want to be.
God wants us to move, to make change,
to be hopeful and fearless because He has us.
For some, this needs to be a daily reminder.
For others, fear is something of the past,
 a skin they have shed.
They have realized that fear is the enemy.
For me, as of late, fear is gripping.
Fear of the unknown, Fear of not being able to find employment,
fear of loss.

"Fear is the enemy of love" - St. Augustine

I woke up this morning with these words on my heart.
No More Fear.
If I believe that God has me and I am doing everything in my power
to move forward, then I should be hopeful.
I truly believe that when bad things happen, we flounder.
We get off course and lose our way.
Well, I do anyway.
I don't want to be fearful. I know there is reassurance in every
direction if I cast my eyes on Him.
Fear and Love can not live together in peace.
I choose love, not fear today.
tomorrow that may be harder to say, but I will try.
And, isn't that all we can do?
try to learn from the past and listen to what
God is trying to teach us.
Choosing to listen is the first step in the
opposite direction of fear.
I hope you live bravely today lovelies.
I pray I will live bravely as well.
