Never been exceptionally good at taking care of me....I will be the first to admit it. I mean, I swam in high school and cheered and studied ballet but really did None of those things in a healthy way.
Years and years ago I had done damage to my body, unthinkable damage...
I had been unkind, I had beaten it up, Cut it, I had starved it, over exercised it, I had said really bad things to it and about it. Through this, After recovery (I have written about this in an earlier blog) God has allowed me to be fairly healthy and then, He even blessed me with three healthy children. With that being said, I have always been extremely grateful to God for healing my body after everything I had put it through. So why have I ignored my health lately?
Recently...I have not felt well. I am having some tests. I am not quite ready to expand on this just yet. I will share when I know more.
I know what I need to do. I know how to be healthy. I am married to a man who is so knowledgeable about health yet...I don't treat my body like I should to be healthy.
You know when you are so tired in the morning you just want coffee, yup, that's me! I am Italian so I eat wayyyy too much bread. It is easier to eat something quick then take the loving care to prepare something nutritious. I want to run so badly but my body won't cooperate. These of course are just a few examples.
Truth is...I am way more concerned about what goes into my children's bodies. Sound familiar Mamma's? I worry if they get enough fruit, are they drinking enough water, we don't allow soda.
It is important to us that our children are healthy and taking good care of themselves...so why should it be different for me? I have ignored some things that are now causing me some problems and it stinks. So...I have to start taking better care of me so I can be around to help take care of others. After all, I believe that is one of my purposes here. To help others. That's it, it is very simple. No excuses, I just have to do it and know that God has me in His loving care.
I have had some news and will be making some changes to both my diet and when I am able my exercise plan. Would love to share my journey with you as I go. For today...Here is to your health!!!
