Valentine heart DIY

This Valentines, I have been inspired by so many
great ideas on Pinterest.
I had recently snapped some photos of a friend
for Valentines day and
in her photos I used a heart
that I had cut out from some poster board.
Using the heart that I had already cut out,
I thought about some things I had seen on
Pinterest and decided to throw together a vintage version.
I took old coffee filters I already had and started
crumpling them up then hot gluing them to the
poster board. Easy Peasy.
I was short about three filters, so I just took some white
tissue paper and crumpled that and stuck it on.
I am all about being crafty but I don't have a lot
of free time to spare so I do things on the fly.
Then I decided I wanted to tea stain it.
I made some tea and then put that in a spray bottle,
went outside and sprayed a light coat and then let the sun bake it.
I did that a few items to get it the color I wanted.
That's it.
I had all the items at home already and it took
no time at all to complete.
I hot glued some yarn to the back to I could
hang it up.

I think it is just the sweetest. I had made some paper bunting
and just draped that over it and there you go.
There are some amazingly creative bloggers
out there offering free Valentine printable's on Pinterest.

 Have a great Monday.
Would love for you to share what you are doing for Valentines day.

Love

Happy Valentines day friends.
I pray that all days you feel loved and special,
not just on this day.

I surprised the kiddos with heart shaped muffins which were a hit...
I love it when my teen boys are still touched
by little details like a heart shaped muffin.

I have been putting little notes in Madi's lunch box
all week. She loves getting notes...
that makes this Mama so happy, cause if I did it
for my teen boys...they would think I had lost it!!!

We are so excited to be taking the kids to the Rock and Worship Roadshow
tonight for Valentines day.
It is a family date.
Nine Christian bands and a whole lot of fun.
This will be Madi's first concert.
Jeremy Camp, Family Force Five among others will
be rockin the house.

The kids were surprised when we told them and so excited.
I think it will be such a sweet way to spend
time together on this special day.

A treasure came by the way of a photo that my Aunt Betty
shared with me via Facebook the other day...
a photo of my parents (who are not with me any longer).
It was the best gift!!!

My beautiful Mom and Dad...
they are so missed!

I wanted to share the Valentine we did for Madi's teacher...
got the idea from Pinterest of course.
It turned out so cute and was
very easy.
We filled the jar with Reese's pieces.

My son surprised me by putting a tattoo on his arm this week
at school with permanent marker...
I didn't care one bit!
Yes, it says I love mom!
I was able to snap some photos of my kiddos this
week that I am still editing...
I will post them soon,
here is a peek.

I hope you have a wonderful day filled
with all kinds of  Love!!!

Happy Valentines day!

Madi Moments/ Daddy, Me and our Valentine dance

My daddy and I went to a valentine dance this weekend. It was so much fun. I wore a dress my Grandma made me last summer and a flower in my hair. Daddy wore a pink tie.
At the dance there were cookies, and sherbet punch, yummy.  Me and daddy danced a lot and they even had door prizes.  We didn't win anything but I didn't care. I had an awesome time.
Happy Valentines day everyone.

Love Notes

I love writing little love notes to my family.  I write love notes to my guy, my rough and tough boys, and my precious girl.  I write lunch box notes, leave notes on their pillows, and love notes at Christmas too.  Valentines day is quickly approaching and so it goes... more love notes will be making their way around our home. But you don't need Valentines day to write a love note. You don't even need paper to write a love note on someones heart.  Love notes are often spoken with a look, a tender touch, a sweet deed, or even a kind hello.
Remember passing notes at school as a kid?  It was fun and it made you feel special...like you just received a special little  gift. Why wait...Write a little love note today and surprise someone.
